| This brown vintage style standing Easter Bunny candy container is 8 1/4 inches tall with a head that can be removed to put sweets into the container body. Our partner MAROLIN® produces these German folk art candy containers in the Thuringian forests of the eastern part of Germany. The artists at MAROLIN® use original early 20th century molds and their own special paper-mâché. Their recipe for paper-mâché is over 100 years old and a trade secret. First the special mixture is poured into the plaster of Paris mold which absorbs the moisture. After 6 days the mold can be opened and the figures are ready to be 'baked' at 70°C. Then the rabbits are hand-painted and their glass eyes are attached. We at antikhaus put a sweet little basket on the rabbit's back for carrying some extra goodies and tie up a nice vintage blue ribbon bow round his neck.
