This small pyramid (candle carousel) is from KWO, a firm in Erzgebirge, Germany. These pyramids have been a long-loved Christmas tradition of the German people. What a temptation! A wonderfully hand-crafted set -- Adam and Eve are 1 3/4 inches tall and the snake is in an apple tree which is 3 1/4 inches tall. These lathed, carved and hand-painted figures are from the workshop of Christian Werner in the tiny village of Seiffen, Erzgebirge, where the first ring-turned animals were made over a hundred years ago. Then as now these wonderful little figures are first cut out of lathed rings and then carved into delightful creatures.

A tiny shepherd 2 1/4 inches tall with his dog and a herd of 4 sheep and a lamb. All of them are from the workshop of Christian Werner in the Christmas town of Seiffen in Erzgebirge, the home of ring-turned animals which have captured the hearts of young and old for generations. All of the figures are hand-painted and fit nicely into their little chip box (3 5/8" x 2 1/8" x 1 1/2"). The sheep have lovely woolly coats made of sawdust.
